University District Organization

Project Summary

The University District Organization (UDO) is the neighborhood affiliated non-profit organization serving the needs of residents and businesses in the University District. A separate entity from Campus Partners, the two organizations collaborate frequently to implement neighborhood improvement projects. Campus Partners is represented on its Board of Directors and has provided support in order to strengthen UDO’s programming. Contributions over the past ten years have allowed UDO to leverage other funding sources resulting in $1.5mil being invested into neighborhood engagement, supplemental security programs, and public art projects. Since Campus Partner’s involvement UDO has been able to:

• Establish its first full-time Executive Director to engage with residents and businesses

• Create the University District Special Improvement District to provide clean and safe services to High Street

• Envision the University District Arts & Character Plan and implement public art projects

• Launch the BeWell University District public engagement process to evaluate quality of life priorities in neighborhoods
